PST Overview
- The PST State-Lead Program is authorized by law to remediate
situations where where there has been releases from petroleum
storage tanks. Release incident cases that are eligible for the program generally
involve responsible parties (RPs) who are either financially unable
or unwilling to conduct the necessary corrective action at an LPST
site.
- Corrective action at a LPST site is directed by PST State-Lead
Program Project Managers and the contracts are managed by the Remediation Contracting
Program . The PST State-Lead Program Project Managers evaluate
and approve contractors’ work plans for site-specific work
orders, oversee field activities, and review and approve reports,
invoices, and other contract-related submittals.
PST Funding
- PST State-Lead Program contracts are financed fhrough either
the state Petroleum Storage Tank Remediation (PSTR) Fund or the
federal Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) Trust Fund.
- Each of these funding sources has specific and distinct
eligibility criteria.
