In general, spills must be cleaned up to background or
prerelease conditions. For spills requiring more than 180 days to
clean up, the cleanup requirements are specified in the Texas Risk
Reduction (TRRP) program rules of 30 TAC Chapter 350, which became
effective on September 23, 1999. Prior to that date, spills
requiring more than 180 days to clean up had to meet the
requirements of the Risk Reduction Standards of 30 TAC Chapter 335
Subchapter S.
