What to Do if a Chemical Is Not on the List

If you cannot find a listing for a particular constituent, that does not mean a health-effects evaluation is not required.

Please contact the Toxicology Section staff to find out if a screening level has been established for a constituent or to be sure of the most current screening level. If no screening level exists for the constituent, then all customers must complete the TCEQ Effects Screening Level Derivation Request Form and submit it to the Toxicology Section staff. However, before you begin completing this form, check synonyms and Chemical Abstract Service Registry numbers (CAS Nos.) to make sure the constituent is in fact not listed in our list of screening levels.
