Licenses for installers will expire on December 31, 2009. After
June 1, 2009, no new installer licenses will be issued. Holders of
a new license type, irrigation technician, will be able to install
a backflow-prevention device and install, maintain, alter, repair,
or service an irrigation system. A licensed irrigation technician
must complete an approved training class and pass an
examination.
