Latest Revision
TCEQ Method 1005, Revision 03, Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons, went into effect June 1, 2001. The method may
be used in lieu of EPA Method 418.1 for the analysis of total
petroleum hydrocarbons. This revision supersedes Revisions 01 and
02 and the revision dated April 13, 1998.
Please note the analysis now includes heavier
hydrocarbons nC28 to nC35. Data produced using Revision 03
should be reported to nC35, unless the environmental medium of
concern or suspected source of TPH does not contain hydrocarbons in
the heavier range.
Results from analyses using earlier versions of Method 1005
may not include data for C28 to nC35. However, these results will
be accepted if the analyses were conducted according to the version
of the method in effect at the time.
