The TCEQ is accepting applications until Oct. 19
for the 2008 Texas Environmental
Excellence Awards (TEEA).
Since 1993, the agency and the Governor's office have issued the
annual awards to individuals, organizations, and businesses that
demonstrate initiative and embody the spirit of environmental
stewardship.
In all, about 175 of these awards have gone to people and
projects that benefit communities in Texas by preserving or
protecting natural resources.
The TEEA program recognizes projects in the following
categories:
- Agriculture
- Civic/Nonprofit
- Education
- Government
- Individual
- Innovative Technology
- Large Business-nontechnical
- Large Business-technical
- Small Business
- Youth
The 2008 winners will receive their awards during the TCEQ's
Environmental Trade Fair and Conference, scheduled in Austin for
April 29 to May 1, 2008.
