The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality today approved
penalties totaling $297,674 against 67 regulated entities for
violations of state environmental regulations.
Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement
categories: one agricultural, eight air quality, one dry cleaner,
one Edwards Aquifer, one licensed irrigator, two multi-media, two
municipal solid waste, four municipal waste discharge, three
petroleum storage tank, four public water system, and two water
quality. There were 33 field citations. In addition, default orders
were issued for the following categories: two dry cleaner and two
petroleum storage tank. Penalties were also assessed in a public
water system action following a hearing at the State Office of
Administrative Hearings.
