The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) today approved
penalties totaling $480,680 against 70 regulated entities for
violations of state environmental regulations.
Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement
categories: One agricultural, 18 air quality, two dry cleaner, one
Edwards Aquifer, three field citations, two industrial or hazardous
waste, five multi-media, four municipal solid waste, eight
municipal waste discharge, seven petroleum storage tank, nine
public water system, two water quality, and one water right. In
addition, default orders were issued for the following categories:
three multi-media, one municipal solid waste, and two petroleum
storage tank.
Penalties were also assessed in one enforcement category
following a hearing at the State Office of Administrative Hearings
for one petroleum storage tank violation.
The TCEQ's next agenda meeting is scheduled for August 20.
