- Border
Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC) assists local
communities and other sponsors in developing and implementing
environmental infrastructure projects, and certifies projects for
financing by North American Development Bank.
- EPA (U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency) Border Page has information on
Border 2012, a binational, interagency program aimed at
environmental improvement through sustainable development along the
U.S.-Mexico border.

- EPA's Center for
Air Quality Information (CICA) provides technical support and
assistance in evaluating air pollution problems along the
U.S.-Mexico border.
- International Boundary and
Water Commission - U.S. Section (IBWC) applies the provisions
of various boundary and water treaties, and settles differences
arising from such applications through a joint international
commission.
- Joint Advisory Committee for
Improvement of Air Quality in the Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua,
México/El Paso, Texas/Doña Ana County, New Mexico,
(JAC) is a binational advisory committee of local residents
which recommends measures on improvement of air quality to the
Border 2012 Air Work Group.
- North American Development
Bank (NADBank) is jointly funded by the United States and
Mexico with an authorized capital of three billion dollars to
provide new financing to projects certified by BECC, supplement
existing sources of funds, and foster the expanded participation of
private capital.
- North American Commission for
Environmental Cooperation was created by the environmental side
agreement to the NAFTA and facilitates cooperation and public
participation to foster conservation, protection and enhancement of
the North American environment.
- Secretaría de
Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (SEMARNAT) is Mexico's
federal environmental agency, whose Web site has information on
programs, activities, and rules and regulations.
- Texas Water Development
Board (TWDB) provides leadership, technical services and
financial assistance to local governments and economically
distressed areas to support the planning, conservation and
responsible development of water in Texas.
