Appointed members advise federal and state government officials
about the effectiveness of the TCEQ's
Small Business and Local Government Assistance Program, including
compliance, enforcement, rulemaking, and voluntary efforts.
Regulatory Updates
Small business and local government representatives throughout
the state can stay informed of changes to TCEQ rules and policies
that may impact them. Rule and policy updates are e-mailed
periodically. Sign up
for these announcement-only notices.
The SBACs provide
small businesses in Texas with a voice in the regulatory process
and help promote environmental quality as well as serve as forums
to educate them on environmental rules and how to comply.
The TCEQ coordinates quarterly meetings where members comment on
existing and proposed environmental policies and programs. Members
include
- small business leaders,
- environmental consultants,
- representatives of trade associations, and
- government organizations.
Committees currently operate in Beaumont–Port Arthur,
Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston.
Information from SBAC meetings is passed on to members of the
state's small business Compliance Advisory Panel to
ensure that the needs of all Texas businesses are heard.
For information on joining an existing SBAC or forming a new one
