Clean Texas Incentives

The TCEQ has approved the incentives summarized below for Clean Texas members.

Expedited Permitting: TCEQ will prioritize permit applications submitted for sites with an TCEQ-approved environmental management system. Expedited permitting will be applied for permit modifications or permit renewals for entities that already have permits.

Reduced MACT reporting: Adopted at the state level following EPA adoption in April 2004. This reduces the frequency of reports required under provisions of the federal Clean Air Act relating to maximum achievable control technologies such that semi-annual reports may be submitted annually instead.

Extended Hazardous Waste Storage Time: Adopted by the EPA in April 2004; will need adoption at the state level. This will increase hazardous waste storage time from 90 to 180 days.

Reduced DMR Reporting: Reduced reporting and monitoring under the provisions of the Clean Water Act regarding discharge-monitoring reports. This incentive will need federal approval for implementation.

Alternative compliance options under Title V (if allowed by rule) without requiring the option to be identified up front. The equipment, operation, or both would need to be authorized under a New Source Review permit. This incentive will need federal approval for implementation.
