Description: The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s (TCEQ’s) Pollution Prevention and Education Section is offering a series of FREE workshops from Harvard Professor Gregory A. Norris on a new (and free) online tool that be used by help reduce the impact of purchasing decisions on the environment. This event can be used for continuing education credit. There are five events scheduled across the state, so we hope you can attend. Please see the enclosed schedule to find a workshop in your area.
The workshops are intended to provide professional purchasers with an opportunity to learn about how they can make purchasing decisions that will benefit the environment. Professor Norris will explain the concept of “lifecycle cost analysis,” which can be used to compare the environmental impact of purchasing decisions, and will then explain how to use the “Purchasing Impact Estimator,” a free online tool he has developed to help purchasers make more responsible decisions. This workshop is eligible for four (4) hours of continuing education to meet the renewal requirements for Certified Texas Purchaser or Certified Texas Procurement Manager.
